Outsider-of-three Bostons Angel wins at Cork

Concerns over partially frozen ground were responsible for two of the three non-runners in the three runner McCarthy Insurance Group Hurdle at Cork today, with victory going to the outsider of the three, Bostons Angel for trainer Jessica Harrington and jockey Robert Power.

The son of Winged Love raced second of the trio, and despite failing to race with much enthusiasm, eventually moved through to lead before the second last flight, staying on well for a two lengths win over Mr Warbucks with Kauto Relko taking a tired fall at the second last flight when beaten in third.

Afterwards Harrington reported “Bostons Angel was doing nothing the whole way around and never picked up the bit at any stage - that's just the way he is and he wont change!”
