Dual Epsom Derby winning trainer John Oxx can feel pleased with his efforts in mapping a four race winning streak for his Aga Khan owned Rayna who completed the feat under Gary Halpin in the Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Connacht Oaks Fillies Handicap at Sligo today.

Halpin was himself completing a double on the day having steered Splashtop to an earlier win.

Afterwards the in-demand jockey, who partnered Rayna to her three of her last four wins, stated “they went an even keel and I was able to keep my 'posi'. I went on a shade early but had to go when I did and she is game and tough and stayed on to the line.

“She wasn't doing a whole lot in front and hasn't done a whole lot of racing and is progressive.”
