Pandorama Remains Unbeaten

Pandorama won the I.N.H. Stallion Owners European Breeders Fund Maiden Hurdle as a 4/9 chance should, taking over with his huge field of rivals well-covered, turning into the straight, and despite being sloppy in his hurdling from that point on, Paul Carberry's mount sauntered to a twelve length success to keep his unbeaten record intact.

A point-to-point winner for John Halley last January in Dungarvan, the Flemensfirth gelding has won two bumpers since.

Trainer Noel Meade was happy with this first outing over timber for Robert Bagnall's five-year-old. He said: "We didn't make the running today as it is hard on horses to do that the whole time. He is a big horse and when he gets in tight (jumping) that is as good as he is. He is a shade better going left-handed and he'll stick to here or Naas.

"The Barry & Sandra Kelly Memorial Novice Hurdle would be the plan now, whether he'll run in the meantime I'm not sure. The Slaney Hurdle would be another race on his agenda and if he stays right he could be anything."

Bookmakers were quoting Pandorama for the Ballymore Properties Novice Hurdle afterwards with 16/1 with Cashmans being the best of it. (EM)
