The Mick Halford trained Pastiches finally made the breakthrough on her eleventh career start, as she took the last at the Curragh this afternoon, the Irish Field EBF Fillies Maiden.

The three-year-old daughter of Street Cry finished a disappointing sixth at Dundalk on Friday evening, but turned out again quickly, she got that all important win to her name.

Ridden by Shane Foley, the 9/2 shot was held up towards the rear in the early stages before she was pushed along and made headway into eighth two furlongs from home.

She was ridden in fifth a furlong out and she kept on best from there, hitting the front close home, going on to score by half a length. New Regalia who was sent off the 7/4 favourite, finished back in second under Kevin Manning for Jim Bolger, while Diamond Daze was half a length back in third under Robbie Downey for Eddie Lynam at 7/1.

Mick Halford said afterwards: "That was all down to 'Dusty', it was a brilliant ride.

"We tried everything with her and we said we would drop her out today. She had enough decent runs to say she'd win a race of that calibre.

"She is in the horses in training sale at Goffs at the end of the month and her half-brother (Shipyard) won at Navan the other day."
