Lucky Pat bounced back to form with a cosy win in the two-mile handicap hurdle at Kilbeggan.

Davy Russell gave the Dot Love-trained gelding a confident ride as he travelled well to lead before the second last.

The 4/1 favourite kept on well in the closing stages to post a length-and-a-quarter success over Catimini

The winner had been last of six on his return to action at Wexford a month ago but Love revealed afterwards:-

"He did it with ease. He had a run a little while ago but it was his first run since a wind op and he wasn't sure of himself.

"He's gotten more and more confident and today was his day. He's a lovely horse - so honest and tries so hard.

"He has done well around here. He's a very nimble horse. We'll keep going over hurdles with him and hopefully go back to Galway."

Lucky Pat won his maiden hurdle here last August having landed a bumper at Galway a week previously.
