Peacock bounces back after break

Peacock's Pride overcame a three month lay-off to record his second win of the season in the featured ten furlong handicap at Navan this afternoon.

The Frank Ennis-trained gelding was prominent throughout, and stayed on gamely up the final climb to the line under Davy Moran for a half length verdict over Lee Applause with favourite Dolphin Bay just a short-head back in third.

'He disappointed us a bit at the Galway Festival, but had a few hard races before that, so we decided to give him a bit of a break. He's entered again at Leopardstown next Monday and will be schooled over hurdles,' said Curragh-based Ennis.
