Pink Hat made it two from two when winning the mares’ bumper at Wexford for Willie and Patrick Mullins.

Her task was made easier when market rival Queen Alphabet was ruled out due to the ground conditions. However, Aidan O’Brien’s Angel Chorus proved to be a stubborn challenger.

The 4/6 favourite Pink Hat raced second to Hard Fought before she took over at the head of affairs with five furlongs to go. She kept on well as Angel Chorus (8/1) and Sarah O'Brien went with her. The runner-up though couldn’t get level and was a length and a quarter down at the line.

There was a break of nine and a half lengths to Keith’s Delight who took third.

"She was good as she was very, very keen the whole way. Someone was clipping heels with her and it was just setting her alight. She is a good filly and hopefully I can persuade the owner to keep me on board when she goes over hurdles,” Patrick Mullins said.

“There is that good Listed mares bumper at Navan, but I don't know whether dad will wait that long. She is better than the bare result there."
