Political Policy saw it out best in Dundalk to gain a victory for Gavin Cromwell and Sean Corby.

Gavin Cromwell paid tribute to Political Policy's improvement as he said: "He had a mark of 58 in September and is after winning off 84 now.

"I think the mile-and-a-quarter suits him. He had a bit of a wind issue but seems to be able to relax and breath over this trip. Then he has the toe to get into the race.

"He was keen over a mile the last day. They jumped and went quick and he got lit up which didn't help his breathing."

This was the four-year-old geldings seventh career victory at Dundalk.

He stayed on nicely at the end of this extended mile and two to win by two and three quarter lengths at 7/1 (from an opening show of 10/1). Brosnan took second at 11/2 and Ringside Humour (9/2) was half a length further back in third.
