Pravalaguna looks yet another decent filly in the care of Willie Mullins after making an impressive Irish debut at Navan in the After The Races Party At The Central Bar Mares Maiden Hurdle.

The half-sister to Petit Mouchoir, successful in a French bumper on her only previous start, had her task eased somewhat when odds-on favourite Three Swallowsnick was pulled up after the second flight.

However the 5/2 second favourite travelled very strongly to lead approaching the last in this 2m4f event, and was just pushed out by Ruby Walsh to go clear on the run-in. Ask Susan second to Augusta Kate at Thurles last month, again took the runner-up spot five and a half lengths adrift with The Kings Baby finding no extra on the run-in back in third.

Mullins said, “It was a good performance and she’ll improve her jumping a bit I hope. She was a bit novicey.

“She pulled very hard so I think for a mare that was that keen over that trip, around a track like this, it says a lot about her ability.

“We’ll looks for a mares novice hurdle for her, probably after Christmas. She can come back to two miles, I think, it might suit her better.”
