Nafaath backed from at least 9/4 this morning, into a returned 6/4, took the opening Join The Tipperary Supporters Club 2009 Race. Maurice Utrillo (4/5 favourite) could manage only third. It was left to his Ballydoyle stable companion, first-timer, Rockhampton to put in a promising performance, a fast-finishing second to Nafaath, with the market-leader only third.
Winning rider, Declan McDonogh and Maurice Utrillo's partner, Johnny Murtagh, departed swiftly afterwards bound for Dundalk.
