Pretty smooth from C'est Ca

Supporters of C'est Ca were always on pretty good terms with themselves as the Groom Dancer gelding raced to convincing success in the opening Larry Rowan Memorial Beginners Chase at Navan.

Doc O'Donnell made a bit of a race of it from the second last fence with the Paul Townend ridden victor but he ultimately couldn't live with the 7/4 favourite on the run-in.

Successful trainer Willie Mullins said: "It's not before his time. I hope this is a good omen for Hurricane Fly as he races in the same colours (those of George Creighton).

"He got it all together today and he has more ability than he's been showing us.

"I thought he had enough speed to win over two miles but he could go over three miles too as he stays and handles very soft ground.

"I'll look to find a winners of one with him now."
