The Mullins family were on the mark in the Lisronagh Maiden Hurdle as Primroseandblue trained by Willie for his wife Jackie and ridden by their son Patrick, swooped late to justify odds of 9/4.

The champion amateur rode a confident race on the Shernazar gelding, waiting until after the last before making his move.

The lightly-raced eight-year-old responded well to touch off 6/4 favourite Saint Gervais by a neck, with Carries Darling (20/1) running a fine race just two and a quarter lengths further back in third.

Willie Mullins, who is favourite to be top trainer at the upcoming Cheltenham Festival, was not in attendance.
