Pugh off the mark on the track with Carrig Cottage

Amateur rider Jennifer Pugh, joint Leading Point to Point rider last season, recorded her first racecourse winner, in the concluding Waterford & Tramore Directors Ladies Bumper at Tramore today, winning on 14/1 chance Carrig Castle.

Pugh, a doctor by profession, produced the daughter of Presenting with a well timed challenge to move her mount to the front over a furlong out for a three and a half lengths win over Whats On The Menu

Afterwards winning trainer Michael Fitzgerald reported “Carrig Cottage had been running consistently well in bumpers and may go hurdling now.”
