The Tony Martin trained Pyromaniac justified 6/4 favouritism to win the Limerick Racecourse Family Fun Day 5th July Rated Hurdle at Limerick today, scoring under jockey Paul Townend.

The son of Invincible Spirit moved into contention entering the home straight and landed narrowly in front at the final flight, before staying on well for a half length win over Totally Dominant

The winner carries the colours of Newtown Anner Stud Farm Ltd and afterwards Martin stated "on his run the last day he was entitled to win and he dug deep today.

"He has a bit of toe and that won the day for him and he'll tip away quietly in conditions races and on the flat. He's not yet a Galway Hurdle type horse as he hasn't the experience and is only a second season novice."
