Raheenwood stayed on strongly up the hill to cause a shock in the handicap chase at Downpatrick.

Stamina won the day for the Milan gelding as he powered home on the run-in in the 2m7f contest.

Sean McDermott settled the 20/1 shot behind leaders before taking closer order three from home.

The Colin Kidd-trained eight-year-old gave chase to Personal Shopper before the second last and landed on the tail of that rival over the last.

He stayed on better on the run-in, going on in the closing stages for a six-length success.

It was a first start in handicap company over fences for the winner, who had been well beaten in a beginners chase at Wexford last month.

“He'll just go for something similar again,” said Kidd, who was leading the horse up himself.
