Six year old gelding Raise You made a winning seasonal reappearance in the Curragh's 1m4f Listed Hanlon Concrete Orby Stakes today, scoring for trainer Joseph O'Brien and jockey Shane Crosse.

The son of Lope De Vega was held up off the pace before being produced to lead a furlong and a half out, and scored comfortably by three and a half lengths from Okita Soushi

O'Brien later said “the plan was to come here and get a nice start to the season. I thought Shane gave him a lovely confident ride today and I'm delighted to get a stakes win under his belt.

“Settling and going up in trip has probably been the making of him over his past couple of runs. He's an enthusiastic worker at home and I was slow enough to go up in trip with him as he works with plenty of pace.

“I hoped he'd achieve more by now but maybe the best is yet to come and since we've made the step up in trip and ridden him patiently, he has really come good.”
