Recharge could bid to get his season back on track in Saturday's Keeneland International Stakes at the Curragh - ground permitting.
Kevin Prendergast 's charge was not beaten far by superstar three-year-old Sea The Stars as a juvenile before making a winning bow in the Leopardstown 2000 Guineas Trial in March.
The Cape Cross colt then claimed fourth in the Irish 2000 Guineas but failed to shine when stepped up to a mile and a half in the Irish Derby.
Beaten 24 lengths in fifth, Prendergast felt that the ground and trip were against his runner that day.
He said: "He came out of the race well.
"The ground was a bit yielding and he wants pretty fast ground. I was a bit disappointed with the way he ran but then he probably didn't stay the mile and a half.
"A mile and a quarter or a mile and a furlong (may be his trip).
"I have him in over a mile and a furlong at the weekend at the Curragh and if the ground dries up a bit - we've had quite a lot of rain here in the last 24 hours - we might see how we run there," he told At The Races.
Recharge is one of 14 horses entered for the Group Three, with Walter Swinburn putting Staying On in the mix.
Prendergast also has Celtic Dane and Moiqen while Aidan O'Brien is mob-handed with Chief Lone Eagle, Drumbeat, Hail Caesar, Red Rock Canyon and Rockhampton.
Dermot Weld's Famous Name is an eyecatching entry while Chintz, Deauville Vision, Estrela Brage and Finicius complete the possibles.
