Rock gets his reward

Liberty To Rock gained a deserved success when running out a game winner of the three-year-old maiden at Dundalk.

Declan McDonogh sent his mount to the lead under two furlongs out but he was strongly pressed all the way home, eventually beating Curl Cat by three-parts-of-a-length.

The Jim Gorman-trained colt has been on the go since March and was having his eleventh start of the season.

"He's as sound as a bell and takes his races well," said assistant trainer Aidan O'Ryan.

"We we're waiting on a bit of nice ground and Declan said he handled the surface well.

He's schooled well over hurdles and we will go jumping after Christmas with him. He's a horse to look forward to next year.

"I have to thank owners Bill and Penny Foley, who are great supporters of the yard."
