Rockyaboya makes winning chase debut

Rockyaboya was left to come home a cosy winner on his debut over fences at Limerick.

Patrick Mullins' mount was closing on front-runner Luddsdenene going to the second last when that rival crashed out. Odonimee who was third at the time, also fell leaving the Mullins' horse clear.

He kept on well in the closing stages to record a cosy 11-length success over 15/8 favourite Tico

The winner had shown only moderate form over hurdles, winning at Downpatrick in September, but looks a nicer prospect over the larger obstacles.

"His point-to-point experience came into play," said trainer Willie Mullins afterwards.

"We had a fair idea he stays much further than the 2m1f there and he'll be going down that route.

"He's better over fences than he was over hurdles."
