The King Of Prs secured a neat return on investment today by securing a maiden success in Punchestown's John Thomas McNamara (QR) Handicap Hurdle, for owner Damien Dillon and trainer Gavin Cromwell.

Bred by jockey Davy Russell's father Jerry, the Dansant-gelding was bought by Cromwell for €6,500 as a three year old and today collected €6,900, following a four lengths win from faster-finishing Galactic Grey

Cromwell confirmed The King Of Prs to be an abbreviation of the 'Private Rental Sector', before adding “I don't know who the king is though!”

The Champion and Stayers Hurdle winning trainer added “it was an encouraging run the last day when it was his first run back after a layoff and he was good there. He (Joey Dunne) gave him a nice ride, around the inside.

“I'm happy with that, I thought he had a chance but won better than I thought. He'll probably stay further but I'd say we'll stick to two miles at the moment.”
