Davy Russell secured a quick double at Punchestown this afternoon when Lite Duties justified favourtism in the Kelly Bradshaw Dalton Supporting Cavan GAA Handicap Hurdle.

The Charles Byrnes-trained gelding was following up a win over two furlongs further at the track last month.

Russell sent the 15/8 favourite into the lead early in the straight and he kept on well in the closing stages to post a five-length victory over Irish Bulletin

“He'll probably run in another handicap at Christmas. We'll keep him going while he's going well. He probably appreciated that slightly better ground,” said Byrnes.

“We'll maybe go to Leopardstown over Christmas for the better ground.”

Russell had also taken the preceding maiden hurdle on On Impulse
