Russell seen to good effect

Arthur Moore landed The Bagnelstown Beginners Chase with Stewards House, ridden by Davy Russell and owned by Ciaran Jones.

Russell disputed the lead early on the Overbury gelding, soon led and kept on well from last to hold off Andrew Heffernan's Golden Empire by 3 ? lengths.

Moore said afterwards, "He appreciated the better ground and he'll probably go for a novice handicap chase at Fairyhouse or Punchestown."
