Samain class act in Rockview

Samain racked up a hat-trick of bumper wins when claiming the Rockview Bumper at the Curragh.

Patrick Mullins drove his mount into the lead just under a furlong out and he powered clear in the closing stages.

Willie Mullins-charge recorded a six-length victory over Shadow Eile with Valleymount two-and-a-half lengths back in third.

The 6/4 favourite was completing an across the card treble for Gigginstown House Stud owned horses, with Last Instalment and Mr Cracker also scoring down in Limerick.

"He's probably the best bumper horse in Ireland this year," said Mullins junior afterwards. "He had a bit more in the tank today."

The race was the final of the Rockview bumper series and Patrick Mullins was the overall winner.

He was presented with a €2,500 holiday voucher. Katie Walsh picked up a €1,500 voucher as the leading lady rider while Conor Fahy received the same for finishing as leading novice rider.
