Sean Davis earned plenty of plaudits from trainer Johnny Feane after getting Set To Fire up by a nose in Down Royal.

The jockey got maximum effort from his mount in the final furlong of the extended mile and two apprentice handicap.

The 5/1 shot led on the line to deprive 20/1 shot Shamar Carrigeen Prince (8/1) was half a length back in third.

Johnny Feane said: "Sean (Davis) just about got there! She met a bit of trouble in running but I think that sort of suits her coming from behind. She settled well.

"Sean's a good rider, he has loads of potential. His head is right, he is a great weight and is very strong for the weight. He has a bright future."
