Stamina won the day in the last at Galway as Shadow Eile galloped her rivals into submission.

Joseph O'Brien took over from front-runner Bashkirov down the back straight and injected some pace into the 1m6f contest.

The mare, who was backed from 9/2 in the morning into 9/4, had her rivals off the bridle before the straight and stayed on strongly in the closing stages. Distant Memories tried hard to chase the winner but went down by two-and-three-quarter lengths. Notable Graduate was sent off the 4/5 favourite but came under pressure before the straight and had to settle for third, a head back.

The winner was making her second appearance of the week having been eighth in the amateur handicap on the opening night.

"She's unbelievable and is some trier," said Love afterwards.

"I thought she might have went too early but she fought to the line. She was a little bit too long on her own but he gave her a lovely ride."

The winner is in again over hurdles on Sunday and Love said:-

"The owner will have to make his mind up. We'll see how she is in the morning."
