Spanish looks one for future

Spanish Treasure looked to have a bright future when claiming the concluding bumper on the opening day of the Punchestown festival.

Robbie McNamara always had the son of Black Sam Bellamy handy and he kicked on early in the straight.

Eddie Hales' charge kept up a strong gallop to the line to post a four-length success over Valleymount

"That was impressive. All my four-year-olds this season have finished in the first three and we were waiting on good ground for him," said Hales.

"My other Black Sam Bellamy was second at Fairyhouse and he's of a similar ilk so I did fancy him.

"We'll be looking for a set of different colours for him now!"
