Some Spirit quickened away in impressive fashion to take the Discover Ireland Dublin Horse Show Maiden at Leopardstown.

Making her first start for trainer Ger Lyons the filly was a bit reluctant to load but bounced out in front under Colin Keane.

She went through the gears smoothly over a furlong from home and soon put daylight between herself and her rivals, going on for a six-length victory over 9/10 favourite Rightway

“She's a lovely filly and is a full-sister to One Spirit. Hopefully she's that class and we'll take baby steps with her,” said Lyons.

“We'll keep her to that trip and she'll let me know when she's ready to run again.

“The Invincible Spirits aren't straight-forward sometimes and if she grows up mentally she's a very smart filly.

“Hopefully she takes tonight well and enjoys the experience so we can build on that.”
