Springfield Grey gained a maiden win in the Littlewoods Ireland Day Tomorrow Handicap Hurdle at Wexford today, winning for trainer Thomas Walsh and claiming jockey Shane Crimin.

The gelding went one place better than than when second in a handicap hurdle at Tipperary last Sunday and afterwards Walsh: "he got a great ride from Shane - I saw him riding last week and I thought he was good.

“I took an awful chance at running him carrying twelve stone one but he seems to be coming back to himself now. He won't be going to Galway though."
