Co Cork based trainer Edward Stanners originally from Hexham saddled 8/1 shot Maid Of Malabar to win The Killetra Mares Maiden Hurdle ridden by Kevin Coleman and owned by Jack Murphy.
Winning trainer Stanners said afterwards, "I was actually a bit worried about the ground, she won her bumper on good ground but she seemed to get through it ok. We will keep her on the go for the Summer and she'll be a better mare on better ground."
