Stay wins for Gigginstown at 33/1

Rivage D'Or headed the betting again, in the Ani-Pets Maiden Hurdle at Tramore, but once more he proved to be a friend to the bookmakers as he could only manage third.

Owned by Gigginstown House Stud, Rivage D'Or carried the first colours of that County Westmeath nursery but it was left to Robbie McCarth in the distinguishing white cap on the apparent second string Stay to come out three and a half lengths in front from Jack Bene

Stay is trained by Colm Murphy and he was sent off a rather generous 33/1 shot considering he was beaten less than twenty lengths on his debut and a subsequent winner (Stephaine Kate) has already emerged from that heat. Stay was bought as a three-year-old for 40,000 Euros by Margaret O'Toole at the Goffs Land Rover Sale in June 2008.
