Summaya rounded off a terrific day for Dermot Weld, Pat Smullen and the Aga Khan when completing a treble for connections in the concluding Blackwater Maiden at Cork today.

It was the third front-running win of the day as Smullen bounced out in front on the well-bred daughter of Azamour.

Hans Holbien was the one for money in the ten furlong contest, bidding to give Joseph O'Brien a winner on his return to the Flat.

The 8/15 shot tackled Summaya early in the straight but cried enough going to the furlong pole and Weld's charge powered clear in the closing stages for a six-length success. T

he winner proved easy to back, returning 10/1 having been as short as 5/1 this morning. She had been sent off favourite on her sole start last season at Listowel but only beat one home.

"She was fit, goes on that ground and they were both factors in her favour," said Weld.

"She is very effective on that ground and will go for handicaps now."

Summaya is out of a Listed placed half-sister to Sinndar. She was the third winner of the day in the Aga Khan colours with Massinga claiming the featured Noblesse Stakes and Shahzeena taking the opening mile maiden.
