Sun On The Run is now three from three on testing ground at Cork after his win in the Listed corkracecourse.ie Navigation Stakes.

Owned and bred by trainer Jim Bolger's brother Paddy, the Whipper gelding overcame the inconvenience of being short of room and hampered early.

Kevin Manning got Sun On The Run into a challenging position on the inner a furlong out. The 7/2 chance then went on to lead inside the final hundred yards. He had half a length and a length and a half in hand over the first two in the betting, Sruthan and Stuccodor at the line.

Manning reflected: "He was very consistent in the spring, and he's grinded it out well there. He handles the ground well, and travelled really well today.

"I just had a question mark about the trip but he's saw it out well." (AM & EM)
