Tandem justified his short price when running out a convincing winner of the opening conditions race at Killarney this afternoon.

The Dansili gelding was a warm order and went off a 2/5 shot on course after opening at 4/7.

Pat Smullen tracked leader Circle in the mile event before taking over with under two furlongs to run.

The three-year-old galloped on well when asked to stretch out and was always in control to post a three-length success. Coin Of Courage came through late to win a battle for the runner-up spot.

The winner was following up on an impressive maiden success at Galway and Smullen believes there is more to come:-

"He's a nice horse and is progressing all the time. He came on from the run in Galway.

"The conditions are quite tiring. The ground is not bad but it's very gluey and holding."
