Tapdancer leads Fegentri ladies a merry dance

The Ladies Qualified Riders Fegentri World Championship Race Handicap at The Curragh this afternoon proved to be nothing less than a farce with Danehill Tapdancer under Jadey Pietrasiewicz, making all in a race which can best be described as silly.

Danehill Tapdancer broke smartly and soon pulled his way to the front in the 1m4f contest. However none of his six rivals chose to give chase, presumably due to complete inexperience, and the winner was the only horse going racing-pace at halfway, a full distance clear.

The ‘pursuing’ group did cut down the lead in the straight with Silver Shuffle getting to within six lengths of the winner at the line.

Winning trainer John Hayden was recording back to back wins in the race having trained Champion Boy to win the 2010 renewal.

Afterwards winning jockey Pietrasiewicz, from the Netherlands, revealed “Danehill Tapdancer was very strong at the beginning and they weren’t the tactics (to front-run)! Thankfully he kept going and I didn’t think I was as far ahead.”

“I’ve had 51 winners and it (Fegentri) is a great Series and we’re off to Norway next..”
