Teoirim ran out an easy winner of the Fingal Ravens GFC Apprentice Handicap, scoring under Ronan Whelan for Jim Bolger.

The four-year-old daughter of Teofilo was beaten just over three and a half lengths by Panama Hat at Naas on Wednesday, and turned out again quickly she was sent off a 5/2 chance. Angel Of Joy was the only one punters wanted to know about and he went off the clear 6/4 favourite having opened at 7/4 on-course.

Having raced in third the winner improved to challenge Angel Of Joy as they turned into the straight and she was soon ridden along.

She hit the front under two furlongs out and soon stretched clear, going on to score easily by three length. Gentry kept on inside the final furlong to take second at 4/1 (opened at 5’s on-course) under Conor Banahan for John Oxx while Angel Of Joy could only manage a very disappointing fourth of five.

Ger Flynn, Bolger's travelling head lad, said afterwards: "She has been on the way back, she was second in Down Royal and then fourth to Panama Hat.

"Ronan said she relished the ground and the trip. He sent her for home early and she got the job done."
