Father and son Gerry and Colin Keane enjoyed a winner at Dundalk as The Black Devil gave them a winner at 5/1 in Division 1 of the mile handicap.

The four-year-old gelding raced second to front-running Enigma Code but hit the front at the two furlong pole. Keane Jnr kept him up to his work as he approached the line two and a quarter lengths to the good.

“He’s holding his form well and he keeps finding when you ask him. He’s clever enough and always seems to keep a bit for himself,” Colin Keane explained afterwards. His trainer father was in Tramore this afternoon.

Eddie Lynam’s 4/1 favourite Doc Holliday stayed on for second under Ronan Whelan, a neck in front of 6/1 chance Moonbi Creek
