A mare in form is certainly a formidable proposition and Mrs Mac Veale followed up her Limerick success from 16 days back when scoring under Barry Geraghty in the 49 Euros Panoramic Restaurant Package Handicap Hurdle at Punchestown.

Bob Murphy's mare went a bit left at the last but the Karinga Bay eight-year-old still had plenty left in the tank and she stretched away on the run-in to triumph from another female at the peak of her powers, World Citizen

There must be something in the air down Cappoquin way at present as Murphy operates in the County Waterford town, similar to Patrick Duffy, trainer of Monday's big Naas winner, Courtncatcher.

With Murphy on leading-up duties here it was left to Geraghty to say: "He said she was in good form and she certainly travelled really well before picking up nicely.

"She went a bit left at the last which she tends to do but it made no odds." (AM & EM)
