David Casey, out of luck earlier on Royal Bond third Arctic Fire enjoyed a nice success on Thelobstercatcher in the Bar One Racing Porterstown Handicap Chase at Fairyhouse.

The grey, getting off the mark on attempt number twenty three over the larger obstacles, has never had his stamina called into question and he displayed his abundant staying power in this three mile five furlong heat, leading three out and going away to cross the line two lengths in front of Ipsos Du Berlais

Winning trainer Pat Fahy commented: "When I saw this race I said we'd enter, not thinking we'd get into it.

"I couldn't believe there were so few entries and he got in perfectly.

"He needs the big fences and at Thurles they were hurdling over them and he got left.

"Today they had to jump those fences and he enjoyed it.

"I said I'd wait to put the blinkers on him when we got a good pot and it couldn't have worked out better as he was so sweet today.

"I'll see what he gets but I wouldn't mind going for some of the big handicaps if we can get into them.

"I'd love to go for the Thyestes and even to come back here.

"It doesn't make a difference to him – he was rated once 130 hurdles and it's just a matter of getting it out of him." (GC & EM)
