Ebor third Quick Jack nailed stable companion Pyromaniac near the line to provide Tony Martin with a one two in the Irish Stallion Farms E.B.F. 'Petingo' Premier Handicap at Leopardstown.

Seven pound claimer Oisin Orr was in the John Breslin silks on Quick Jack, as the seven-year-old Footstepsinthesand gelding added to his big race gains from the 2014 amateur handicap, and the following year's Galway Hurdle at Ballybrit.

Martin was also responsible for the fifth home, Golden Spear but up front it was Quick Jack that edged things from favourite, Pyromaniac, by a neck. The latter had looked likely to score when leading in the final furlong, but he couldn't fend off the strong run of the patiently ridden Quick Jack.

"It was a great result and unfortunately there had to be a loser," said Martin.

"I couldn't be happier and they are two good horses. Golden Spear ran a cracker too.

"He was drawn 16 and the young lad was superb on him. There was no point being up with the hurly burly. He took his time and the gaps came at the right time.

"He took 7lb off him in York and didn't do anything wrong there. Unfortunately the horse banged his head coming out of the stalls.

"Joe Banahan (starter) and his team were very good with him today.

"After Christmas my horses were a little off and we closed up shop. At Galway they started to show a bit of sparkle and they've been running well since."

For his part Orr commented: "I had the worst draw of all but managed to get in and he got a lovely run around.

"He got there at the line and did it well in the end."

L.F. Roche, rider of Silver Concorde (GB), trained by D. K. Weld, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount hung to the left throughout the race and was eased close to the finish.
