Tough as Rock County makes it 3 from 3

Rock County completed the notable feat of winning three handicaps on the bounce when he prevailed by three lengths under Paddy Flood in the Sanserv Handicap Hurdle at Galway.

Twice a winner at Tramore and absent since June, Sabrina Harty's charge led after three out and he fought off all challengers from before the last, Assigh Pearl coming through to fill the runner-up berth.

Harty said: "I'm delighted with him because he is still a big baby. He is a great character, a beautiful mover and jumper and he'll make a great chaser.

"We were worried about his fitness but he had plenty of hill work done which served him well up the hill here. It has worked out well anyway and he's so laid-back that it is hard to know how forward he is.

"He'll be better back up in trip and as I've said it is hard to know how good he is as he is so laid-back. In fact there are always fights at home about who gets to ride him!"
