In race four at Ballinrobe Paul Townend completed a 181/1 treble - he'd finished second in the opener - when getting the gambled on The Informer (7/2 into 9/4) home by four and three parts of a length in the Maloney & Matthews Handicap Hurdle.

Emmet Butterly 's winner had the Ruby Walsh ridden The Fitz Lady chasing him in the straight, but he had matters in hand when throwing a lovely big leap at the last.

From there home it was pretty comfortable for the lightly-raced Downpatrick second place finisher from August 9th.

"He's a grand horse and he just bumped into one the last day," explained Butterly.

"Paul said he was in control the whole way around and he'll go to Downpatrick now on Monday over two mile seven.

"With the way he won there it looks like we will have to keep going with him now for a while.

"He's a lightly raced horse - he's never had any problems but it has just taken time for the penny to drop with him.

"His owner (James Ferry) is from Letterkenny and he has a refuse company. He puts a lot of money into the horses and it's good to see him get a winner. I'm marrying his daughter next month."

The Stewards fined S. Slevin, trainer, 350 Euros for lodging a passport in respect of Ash Rowe in which the vaccinations did not conform with the provisions of Rule 91.

The Stewards allowed the horse to run on receipt of the trainer's written assurance that the vaccinations were in order.
