Tramore Double for Ruby

Fingers (5/1 at least in the morning into 4/1) and South Upper Street (5s in the morning into 7/2) were the ones for money in the Tote Jackpot Races 3 to 6 Maiden Hurdle and they dominated the closing stages as the former beat the latter by eight lengths.

The Kevin O'Brien-trained winner made a lot of the running and gained control of the contest from two out, ultimately coming home an easy victor. The chestnut won his point-to-point at the nearby Milltown venue in Kilmacow, Co. Kilkenny, last November and had been consistent under Rules up to now without winning. He could go to Listowel next weekend.

Winning rider, Ruby Walsh, doubled his tally in the Newbridge Silverware Beginners Chase on Sizing Africa for Henry De Bromhead. This Bob's Return gelding was backed from 3/1 in the morning and 11/4 into 7/4 on course, and the dual bumper winner, who disappointed over hurdles, got his chasing career off to the perfect start, coming home a convincing five length winner from December Sun (EM)
