Ryan Treacy and Kemboy proved to be a match made in heaven as Paddy Neville's charge made just about all to land the spoils in the Malton Hotel Handicap Chase at Killarney.

Eventual third home Ard Cregg jinked before the third last - carrying out Misdflight and favourite Not For You - and 12/1 shot (from 16s in the ring) Kemboy was soon looking unlikely to be reeled in.

The nine-year-old former 'pointer' got home to shed his maiden tag by three lengths from Castle Fall's

"It was a long time coming. He likes this track but disappointed us at Tipperary. The ground then was watered a bit much for him and he just likes the top of the ground," commented Neville.

"He is an old horse and while he has had a lot of problems, has very little mileage and we'll see where we go from here."

The Stewards enquired into an incident approaching the third last fence involving Misdflight, ridden by D.G. Hogan, Ard Cregg, ridden by M.P. Fogarty, and Not For You, ridden by D.N. Russell. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that the incident was accidental and took no further action.

M.A. Enright, rider of Taboo trained by P.J. Rothwell, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount stopped quickly.
