Pat Smullen completed a treble and Dermot Weld a double, as Sereza ran out an easy winner of the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Maiden.

The daughter of Pivotal finished third on her debut at Tipperary recently, and she was sent off a 6/4 chance to go two places better here.

Drawn on the outside in stall seven, the bay victor soon led and she asserted from a furlong out, staying on strongly to draw clear inside the final furlong, winning by six and a half lengths at the line. Spirited who was sent off the 5/4 favourite, had to settle for second under Fran Berry for Charles O’Brien, while Tirghra (9/2) was a further five and a half lengths back in third under Kevin Manning for Jim Bolger.

Dermot Weld commented in the aftermath: “She was a backwards filly, but she handles this ground and Pat made plenty of use of her.

"She is a big galloping mare and I have no set plans for her. I’ll try and find a conditions race or a Listed race for her, and she will stay a mile and a half."
