The 5.35 and 6.05, the Live The Dream With Tote Handicap Hurdle, may have looked difficult, but for the second time in half an hour we had a winning favourite when Try It Sometime (7/2 from 6s this morning) prevailed at Tramore under Andrew McNamara.
Never far away in the well-known Liam Breslin colours, Try It Sometime found enough from the back of the last to beat Udo's Choice by two and a quarter lengths.
Fran Flood, representing his father, winning trainer Francis, said: "It's good to get a winner and he's from a lovely family.
"When we got him from the sales we thought he'd be better than he is. He's just taken a long time to come to hand and maybe he'll get stronger and improve after this.
"If he couldn't win off that mark we'd have been in trouble. He stays well and hopefully he'll pick up another one over the summer."
Morning gamble Rebel Cry (went off at 7/1) got chopped for room after three out and had to be content with seventh place at the end.
A.E. Lynch, rider of West Council trained by I.Madden, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that the reins broke in running and pulled up.
