Kyle's Turn just held on in a driving finish to the Rainbow Communications Handicap Chase at Down Royal.

David Splaine produced his mount to lead at the second last in the 2m6f event as long-time leader Tarquinius jumped out to his left.

Kyle's Turn also went left after the fence and was strongly pressed going to the final fence. Days Ahead joined in and was the biggest danger on the run-in, pushing the eventual 10/1 winner hard as only a neck seperated the pair at the line.

It was a local success for Newtownabbey trainer Eyssen Ross and her son Kevin said afterwards:-

"We fancied him strongly after his last run as five winners came out of that race. He's a possible for the Troytown if he gets in."

Belfast-based owner Sean Macklin has five horses in training and three of them with Ross. He aaded:-

"I was expecting a good run as he's in good form. He's a lucky horse and that's his fourth win - all of them have been at a nice price.

"David rode him well in Galway last time. We didn't get a run into him before that race so it was a good performance."
