Twirl makes all to take Leopardstown opener

Twirl a full sister to Misty For Me, took the opener at Leopardstown this afternoon, the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Maiden, with ease under Seamie Heffernan for her trainer Aidan O'Brien.

Having run an eye-catching race on her debut over the course and distance last Sunday, she was strongly fancied to go two places better today and went off at the odds of 10/11 favourite.

The daughter of Galileo made all and was ridden to assert over furlong out. She kept on strongly from there to score comfortably by six and a half lengths from Maude Adams at 6/1 back in second.

Winning rider Seamie Heffernan said afterwards: "She had a lovely run last week and I thought she was a bit unlucky.

"I asked her to jump out fast today as I wanted to save ground (drawn on the outside). Galileo’s would run through fire for you."
