Unic De Bersy (2/1) quickened up nicely to hold off Ashford Wood (5/2) in the closing bumper at Tipperary.

When Patrick Mullins gave him the office in the final furlong the French bred showed a good attitude to go on and win by a length and a half.

The five-year-old runs in the Gigginstown House Stud colours and is trained by Willie Mullins after winning a point-to-point for Colin McKeever.

Unic De Bersy was weak in the betting this morning going from 6/4 to 2/1, but at the track he was backed from 5/2 to 2/1 favouritism.

The front two pulled clear at the finish as The Tourard Man came home third at 14/1, beaten 10 and a half lengths.

“He loved the ground and is a galloper who wants a trip,” Patrick Mullins commented afterwards.

Patrick is now five from nine when riding for his dad Willie this season. This was the only runner for both of them on the card. Willie has trained nine winners in the last two weeks.
