Unique Really easy winner in Limerick

The John Joe Walsh trained Really Unique took the Goggin Buckley Engineering Handicap Hurdle over 2m 6f in convincing fashion under Philip Enright.

The son of Witness Box won over the course last month and ran well at Cork since, finishing second to Lookoutnow, who went on to win again at Thurles last week.

Back on course from 9/2 into 7/2 favourite Philip Enright had his mount prominent throughout and sent him to the front three flights from home.

He went clear approaching the straight and stayed on well to win by an easy eleven lengths from Lisrose back in second at 8/1 for her trainer/rider Declan Queally. Dr Proctor finished third for the third time in-a-row four and a half lengths back at 4/1 while the old warrior A New Story completed the placings a further ten lengths back in fourth at 16/1.

Winning trainer John Joe Walsh said afterwards: "He'll probably go to Tramore now (entered in a 2m 5f Handicap Hurdle on New Year's Day). He stays well and Limerick has been a lucky place for us."
