Vintage set for Oaks bid

King's Vintage will bid to follow in the hoofprints of her illustrious mother, Vintage Tipple, when the Tom Mullins trained filly bids to win the Irish Oaks on Sunday, having claimed her maiden win in the Corcoran's Furniture & Carpets Handicap at Killarney today.

King's Vintage's four and a half lengths win was completing a double for jockey Fran Berry and Mullins later stated "if the ground stays soft, King's Vintage will run in the Irish Oaks - a race won by her mother Vintage Tipple, for my father Paddy, in 2003. King's Vintage is not as tough, or as good, as her mother though and we may be trying for only eighth place in the Oaks!"

He added "King's Vintage had been working great at home and I think the firmish ground wasn't suiting her."
